Encino catererAround the middle section of the San Fernando Valley lies the beautiful district of Encino. This Los Angeles district was named after the ancho Los Encinos in the mid 19th Century. It is now a sophisticated district populated mainly by the highly affluent. The district’s boundaries can be said to be Victory Boulevard, the San Diego Freeway, Mulholland Drive, and Lindley Avenue marking the North, East, South, and West boundaries respectively.

Geography

Encino is ensconced between the Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area and the Encino Reservoir on the North and South and between the Tarzana and Sherman Oaks Districts in the West and East respectively. The main thoroughfares in Encino District include Burbank, Magnolia, Balboa, and Ventura Boulevards plus White Oak, Hayvenhurst, and Haskell Avenues.

Demographics

The 2000 US National Census reported a population density of 3864.9 people per square mile with a total population of 40,946 people. The population classified by age is:

The ethnic make-up in according to the 2000 census was:

Education

The public school system in Encino is operated by the Los Angeles Unified School District. There are four main public elementary schools which are the Encino, Emelita, Hesby Oaks, and Lanai Road elementary schools. The three public middle schools are Hesby Oaks, Portola, and Mulholland middle schools. Reseda high and Birmingham high are the two high schools serving the area. There are some private schools in the area which include Holy Martyrs Armenian High School, Los Encinos School, The Learning Centre Foundation, Crespi Carmelite High School, and Westmark School among others.

Recreation Facilities

The Los Encino State Historic Park located on the Ventura Boulevard–Balboa Boulevard corner is a 5-acre park run by the California State Parks. It has a natural warm spring and contains the original de la Ossa Adobe, a 9-room natural ranch house, and the blacksmith shop, a duck pond, and Garnier building. This property has over the centuries been owned by the Tongva Indians, Christian Missions, French owners, and the Basque. The Park is a favorite family outing venue with picnics, parties, and weddings being regularly held there.

The Sepulveda dam was built in 1941 by the US Army Corps of Engineers to prevent flooding caused by the breaking of the Los Angeles River’s banks as those that happened in 1938. It lies on the Southern side of the San Fernando Valley. Behind the dam there are several parks, large recreation areas, the Magnus Cricket Complex, The Encino golf Course, The Balboa Golf Course, an armory, a water reclamation plant, a model aircraft field, a 6.5-acre Japanese garden, and a wildlife refuge.

The Balboa Sports Complex has several lighted outdoor basketball courts, a lighted baseball diamond, a lighted handball court, a lighted football field, a lighted soccer field, a lighted tennis court, a few lighted volleyball courts, and an indoor gymnasium. Encino food are also popular for his delicious taste and Encino caterer offer best catering services.
